Book bindings from 1000 years
The Bavarian State Library presents a selection of about 80 of its most outstanding book bindings from its rich and unique collection covering the Carolingian period to the present day. Sumptuous medieval covers are exhibited next to early modern ones commissioned by the nobility, everyday covers from monastic and public workshops as well as modern book bindings created by artists.
