Endangered Cultures under One Roof
The museum for art and culture from Africa, Asia, America and Oceania uses individual posters to present selected projects dealing with the conservation and restoration of objects of material culture of non-European nations. The special features of these artworks and the ethnological objects lie, on the one hand, in the extraordinary diversity and the complex composition of the materials from which they are made. The museum preserves and protects artefacts made of metal, stone, ceramic, glass, wood, paint, paper, bone, plastic, textiles, feathers and plant materials. On the other hand, these objects are of differing sizes and characteristics, ranging from small works to architectural structures weighing several tonnes.
